About Hope Harbor
Safe, structured, supportive sober living.
Hope Harbor Housing is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 2024 to help people in recovery bridge the gap between treatment and independent living.
Our story
Built for the gap between care and independence
For many people leaving treatment or incarceration, the readiness to move forward runs into a hard reality: there are very few safe places to live. Without a stable environment, recovery becomes much harder.
Hope Harbor Housing was founded in 2024 to help close that gap. In November 2026 we open our first home, Anchor House, in Morgan County, Indiana, with a long-term vision of a network of homes that bridges the space between inpatient care and independent living.
We believe recovery does not happen alone. By building a responsible network of supportive homes, we aim to give people the foundation they need to rebuild their lives with dignity and purpose.
Our mission
To provide a safe, structured, and supportive environment where residents can build healthy routines, remain accountable in sobriety, access community resources, and develop the skills needed to thrive.
Our vision
To help people in recovery move toward independent, purposeful, and stable lives while building communities where second chances are supported and hope is restored.
Why it matters
Why supportive housing matters
Bridging the gap
The move from intensive care or incarceration to fully independent living is a vulnerable time. Supportive housing provides a stepping stone, with the time and environment needed to make new habits stick.
Reducing relapse
Returning to unstable or substance-using environments is a major driver of relapse. A substance-free home with built-in accountability gives residents a better chance at long-term recovery.
Our values
The values behind Hope Harbor
The principles that guide our homes and our growth.
Dignity
Treating every person with the respect they deserve as they rebuild.
Accountability
Responsibility to oneself and to the community.
Stability
A secure foundation for forward progress.
Community
Recovery and growth happen best in connection with others.
Hope
Second chances are possible and worth investing in.
Responsible stewardship
Growing deliberately and managing resources with integrity.
Looking ahead
Responsible growth
We are beginning with one home and a vision for responsible expansion. We intend to build deliberately, strengthen our operations, and grow only as our capacity to provide high-quality support allows.
